StumbleUpon : social bookmarking, allows you to surf randomly on sites bookmarked by others and refered to as "great" by their posters, according to themes you set yourself, based on your interests
VideoDownloader : allows you to download streamable videos (works great with google video and youtube) NoScript : disables all scripts, EXCEPT on sites you personnally choose to allow scripting for, like your bank or such. Much more secure by default, but annoying for new users. Fox lingo : a translation toolbar, a lot of languages available, from, to . Torent Search : .... East-asian translator : translate to japanese/kor/chinese and back forth Last edited by Hard core Rikki; October 31st, 2006 at 16:25. |

Personally I use:
Tabbrowser Preferences - Gives you some more options for tabbed browsing. SessionSaver - Stores your tabs so you don't lose your open pages when you close Firefox or if Firefox crashes. rikaichan - Lookup japanese words. Also supports mouseover-lookup. XHTML Ruby Support - Render Ruby tags above text. (Useful for furigana in japanese text)

SessionSaver is only necessary for FireFox 1.5x and before.
FireFox 2.0 saves the pages in case it crashes, and even 1.5 allowed to save bookmarks in a lot (instead of saving a single page, you save the currently opened ones= bookmark all pages) I guess this is it then. |

I suggest adblock (kills ads) and adblock filterset.G updater (automatically keeps your adblock deny/allow list uptodate for the latest ads). I also use Torbutton for enabling a proxy for the Tor network, but I only use that because my network administrator is gay and blocks some traffic like torrent files.

For ALL kinds of uses, just check THIS site, it gives suggestions on what extension you need for your needs. Quite complete too.

Be warned that some extensions (or combinations of) can get Firefox to crash easily, as some are coded very badly. Excluding some of the above extensions, I use the following:
- FlashGot: for a bit more control over downloading and for perfect integration of your favourite downloadmanager. - ColorZilla: eye dropper, color picker, page zoomer, etc - Web Developer: Adds a bar with a lot of useful functions for people who develop websites and web applications, though you may even find it useful if you don't. - HTML Validator: Adds HTML validation to Firefox's Page Source Viewer. - Server Spy: Displays the webserver's signature (thus it obviously gets fooled by masking) you're currently viewing the page on in an attempt to detect what type of webserver it is. - ShowIP: Attempts to display the IP address of the webserver of the page your viewing, though can sometimes get confused through use of proxies. Includes more IP-related features. - Live HTTP Headers: Allows to catch the HTTP headers while browsing. Only useful for debugging purposes, though the Web Developer extension provides most of its functionality already. I really only use it for its catcher.
