Xvid/Divx to DVD Software - Whats the BEST & Fastest?
Xvid/Divx to DVD Software - Whats the BEST & Fastest?
I used some before but they take like 6 hours to convert MPEG to DVD format It would be nice if I could find a program like takes 3-4 hours max and thern I could burn it right away.. Shareware or Freeware will do.. FREE definitely is better

I liked DvdSanta software. I found the audio sync with the video was really good. Really quick too.

Just select the output as Vob DVD compliant, and voila!! You might want to use NTSC or PAL options so change those accordingaly. You could reduce video bitrate too in case it looks overkill. Quality above all!! You could also use the AUTO-MODE profile. The easiest it can be. 2 clicks are enough. Everything gets processed in the YUV colorspace (avisynth supported) so dont expect anything (significantly) faster anywhere. watermark??? not on mine....plus it is easier to use, no selecting Aspect ratio etc...drop the files in and click convert. Even auto adds chapters , does menus, and burns to dvd when it is finished. Small payment is well worth it....

I follow this old school guide for the best quality.
Dunno about the fastest, but it takes me around 2hrs on a Athlon64 3500+ to convert a 2 CD xvid with 5.1 AC3 encoding. |

Will try 2 hours movie and report back, with and without the following options activated.
Inside SUPER,right click and deactivate "Enable File Analyzing Engine". Slows starting of encoding significantly, even if its to try to better allocate bits. Disabling the "High Quality" option also speeds up encoding significantly. Disabling those two shouldnt lower quality unacceptably. |

For SUPER. Using the VOB DVD Compliant setting. Finished encoding after 2 hours 40 minutes.
Remember, compliant DVD movies are supposed to have 0,99 gb files at max. You'd want to split it in smaller files after this step, in case you're using high bitrates. |
