Question Got my first radeon: 9600xt. lots of questions.

I just got this card here for testing, as a friend requests.
It had no fan, the original one died, so i putted a fan from a old K7 cooler i had lying around.

After 5 hours of 3d testing, the card seemed to be ok, no artifacts nor it was hot.

So i decided to keep it to myself, he sold me really cheap, R$100 Reais, around 35 U$ Dollar. The card is a gecube radeon 9600xt 256MB 128-bits. I really think this card is way better than my current GF FX 5200 128MB 64-bit.

Since i never had a radeon before, i got the latest catalyst 6.7, but for tweaking the driver, rivatuner still doesnt support this driver. So any tips on programs and settings about will be much appreciated.

PS: when i get a camera here, ill post some pics of my "fan-mod"...

Try some optimizied drivers, such as Omega's or NGO Optimizied Driver with ATI Tray Tools. I use them for a long time and they're the best configuration I've ever tested.

Oh, and yes, Your Radeon is WAY better than the crappy GeForce : ).

Of course you should remove forceware first, Catalyst might screw up your whole OS if you don't. If you can, try to remove it completely from the system before installing catalyst.
