Purevideo?

I recently got the full version of Purevideo for my nvidia 7900gt. But i dont see any changes at all in playing videos. they look exactly the same as if i were playing on wmp. and also, some of the movie features (such as skipping) suck, cause you can only skip by 30second increments.

So are there any fixes out there or anything?

btw the media player is nstandmedia, right?

The codec in PureVideo will make better use of your nvidia card. You might notice that the CPU usage when watching videos has gone down after installing purevideo. The bad thing about wanting to compare the before and after is that WMP might use the new codec in purevideo by default now.

It doesn't really make much of a difference unless you are watching videos in high def.

Yeah, installing the codec packs does change things. If you installed the codec pack after purevideo, the codec pack might take higher priority and your videos will be played through the codec pack instead of the nvidia codec in purevideo. And vice versa, if you installed purevideo after the codec pack, the purevideo one will take priority.

To find out which codec your system is using, try GSpot.

Its all pretty complex. The forums at videohelp are pretty good for codec info.
