Can't open adobe.com (every other site works fine)

For the past few days, I have been unable to open adobe.com in firefox. Same with IE.

This happens on both of my computers, but when I try it on a 3rd computer on the same connection, it works fine.

Does anyone know what this could be caused by?

Thanks in advance
matija

Check your C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file. Remove anything pointing to 127.0.0.1 (except for localhost).

thanks for the reply!

i already checked the hosts file, it was clean

i also found the solution to the problem in the meantime: i had an external hdd with 2 firewire ports plugged into both of my computers.. if i booted them up with the hard drive unplugged, the site opened fine. (dont ask how i figured that out).. anyhoo.. having them both on the hdd connected them as a network with ip's that i set to start with 192 (which adobe.com also starts with) so i changed them to just like 8.8.8.x etc... and now everything works fine

such a weird problem..
