Does Bit Comet have adware/spyware?

Ever since I installed it I had pop up galore, I'm talking about comedy crazy, about 50 popups in a matter of seconds.

Nope, Bitcomet will not install spyware or whatever pop-up. That it, unless you download from another source other than the official one.

I'm always using this bittorrent to download games, but i didn't see any spyware because of this shareware.
There must be something else infecting your machine.
Try using anti-spyware software to get rid of poups.

do not talk about downloading anything illegal... your probably gonna get banned. and personally i use azureus, it has much more advanced configuration options. bitcomet i dont like so much... but azureus is cpu, ram intensive.

Now now valcrist.. Play nice

BitComet contains NO spyware\adware what so ever, i can reassure you. But, i wouldnt use it as my BT client. It is one of the least secure clients and has many exploits that allow people to 'leech' freely, and as such, was banned from many private and public trackers.

I would recommand to look into Bittornado, ABC, And as a last resort, Azureus (As it have been said, its pretty advanced but HEAVY on resources being javaVM based)

I've used ABC for a while, as well as Bittornado for a little but, I still like bit comet above and beyond. leechers meh, oh well, I haven't run into any problems.

Personally i have used BitTornado (formerly known as Shad0w's BT Experimental) and ABC most of the time to get top notch results and features.
BitComet's design is nice.. but the author's attitude towords leeching make me not want to use it at all, similarly to G3.

I agree... BitComet should force a higher upload, 3kb forced upload is too low

Just open the torrents in BitComet and choose to resume by selecting the partial download made by the other client.

@WindHydra: Almost all clients force a minimum 3kb upload, some per torrent, some per the entire session.

ABC minimum is 3k/ torrent.

I've played with various different clients. ABC and Azureus are the only ones I will use and ABC only wins by virtue of being slightly more stable about half as memory hogging
