Symantec AV 10- new process running
I recently upgraded from version 9 to 10.
And now, as winxp loads, this process - doscan.exe runs @80% of cpu power, for something around 2 mins, then it closes itself. 1)Is it normal? 2)What does it do? 3)Do i need him? 4)If not, can i disable?

Why don't you ask Symantec. I mean you need to shell out at least 500 USD for the corporate version of SymantecAV. Surely you should get some support with that.

I haven't use Symantec Norton in a long while but it's probably new processes to better protect your computer.
Personally I would uninstall Norton and go with another anti-virus software.
