Are you assuming that from the website? It is actually a full release, the website just specializes in upcoming news in the technology industry.

wow, worthwhile improvements, at least this time it's not like "fixed the adware/spyware transponders" or some crappy crap like a couple releases ago

Nono I'm assuming that because the winamp website is still on 5.08. If it was full non-beta wouldnt they have released in on the really winamp site?

Nah, they normally take a few days to update their home page.

You can tell it not to add the eMusic crap and I haven't noticed any other advertisements in either Winamp itself or anywhere else on my computer.

I'll download this and check out I guess. Personally I don't install the media library, it logs too much in my opinion, which is why I'll hate Longhorn even more... All privacy gone.

Meh, it's a little crap I just want the NSV for nullsoft video/TV also and I have to download tons of other crap that I don't use. D:

Actually the Winamp Library is not needed, but you loose some functionality like the ability to edit bookmarks (I do it manually), , browse for streams etc. ( www.shoutcast.com and http://www.scvi.net/tvpls.htm )

Afaik, streaming audio uses in_mp3.dll and nullsoft video uses in_nsv.dll ...

Oh come on, it's so much easier to browse in the library than faff around searching the net for streams.
