connection configuration
Since recently I had been connecting to my router with an USB connection; however I recently found a straight cable i had made long ago, and tried to use it. After setting it up, most applications (including bittorent and emule) will recognize the new connection immediately and use it (and succesfully), however, my internet browsers (firefox and IE) insist on using my (deactivated) USB connection, and thus will not connect all. Is there a way to tell them to snap out of it and use the only connection that is actually alive? (the ethernet one
)

Well I suppose using hte internet connection wizard in IE to tell it you are using the network instead of dial up (as I expect it was under USB mode)

Check to see if you have the router's usb drivers installed under the device manager. If the drivers are there, remove them.
Also make sure you disconnected the usb cable from the router to the computer so that the computer will know that the network cable is used. |
