Worm exploit in Winamp!

Slashdot is reporting that there is an worm exploit using Winamp skins.

Luckily there is a temporary fix to this exploit.

But if you want to be totally safe, don't use Winamp until the next version is released.

typical foobar user, blaming winamp. just stick to waht you got man, it's not winamp's or AOL's fault that there's a problem with this. someone clever just came up with the idea. i have my Firefox set to automatically open .torrent files...anyone want to use that to their advantage and create some problem with ABC? go for it. it can happen to any program that's set to auto-open.

I just use what it comes with anyways ... Meh. Software firewall, plus hardware firewall and anti virus software. Hopefully i'll be safe plus me not using skins

did you guys read the post? it's not about downloading skins. it's about anything being wrapped up in a skin file and then being executed by winamp, not just skins

Exactly hushy, any lamor with time to waste can exploit anything these days.

Dont blame Nullsoft or AOL (well maybe AOL

), blame the a$$hole who did this.

me either, a bugfixed winamp will be out shortly, in that time, i dont think i'll be getting any viruses from livejournal, ngemu, exemu, or newegg....the only 4 sites i ever visit
