IE history explorer.exe hmmm

Wiping the IE 6 history is harder than it used to be, but not too hard. I created a program in C that can do this with ease, the only catch is has to be ran on the startup because I believe explorer.exe keeps the index.dat files in use. I started to ponder using command prompt to delete this etc..but in XP there is no real dos so that idea got chunked out the window. Of course just navigating to tools->options etc.. is an easier way but Ive noticed alot of folks forget to do this before they shut down thereby getting caught looking at pron etc..

There are TONS of programs that clear all of that and then some. My favorite is is Tracks Eraser Pro from Ace Soft. Though most of the good ones cost $, I have seen and used some free ones that are just OK but have never been really happy with them :P

I've pretty much mastered that...it's second nature to me now ^_^

the index.dat has to be deleted at pre-boot, before explorer is loaded. For most people, cleaning out the TMP folder and history will keep your naughty surfing habits safe....only real computer nerds can open the index.dat file

you can't flush out a file when a program is already using it. Explorer will most likely write-protect it from modification.
