Blacklisted Proxy?

I just got this alittle while ago while trying to connect to efnet. weirdest error ever... wtf?

I got a temporary k line message before, but it just said I had been banned....nothing about a proxy...even weirder since I don't really use mirc except for ngemu

It's possible that somebody, who had the same IP as you earlier, was banned from the server.

well that just makes things weirder.. thought ip's wernt supposed to be the same? (sorry, im not well educated with networking yet so im not sure of the term )

Most ISPs allocate IP addresses dynamically using DHCP (dynamic host configuration protocol) upon authentication. It is therefore possible that your IP address had been previously allocated to another user at an earlier time, but they disconnected leaving that IP free for reallocation to another host.

Unless you actually are using a proxy, this is the only reasonable explanation that I can think of.
