Video Conversion

Are the any good freeware or shareware programs out there that support video conversion to and from multiple formats that are any good and have decent cpu handling? I tried one called Konvertor, but it totally kills my CPU...

Well all video encoding is going to push your cpu hard. Try EO Video. It is a 30 day trial iirc.

I use Gordian Knot for everything but MPEG2 encoding, for which I use NeroVision Express 2 (the later not being freeware)

I like using virtualdub for most of my conversions. I use tmpenc for my mpeg & mpeg2 conversions. Also any converter takes most of the cpu's time. When you convert most likey you shouldnt do anything else on it.
