Firefox Insnt saving txt files properly
what the hell...
i dunno if this is a firefox thing or something with that one site. but when i tried to save this txt it came out like this

That would be notepad... the text file is in Unix format, which notepad doesn't understand. Open it in Wordpad or a better text editor like UltraEdit.

Just copy the text, then open notepad, paste it there and save the file.

Works fine if I save as in IE and open in Notepad.

how can you tell if a documents in Unix format? just save it and wait for notepad to screw it up?

No, it is caused because under Unix, lines are terminated with a \n (LF) character. Under DOS and Windows NT, lines are terminated with a \r\n (CRLF) pair. Thus, Notepad in all of it's stupidity, does not recognise the Unix line termination. Curiously enough, Wordpad seems to recognise it though.
There is absolutly no reason why a web browser should even consider messing with the data inside of a file.

Even more curiously, the good old "edit" command (a relict of DOS) perfectly handles unix text files. For some reason hard to understand, MS broke this compatibility in notepad.
