A. Search for proxylist on Google
B. Look for the proxy in internet tools
C. Use this link *forgotten link*

At my school they blocked every site that had the word "game" in it. They said it was because too many people were "downloading things." Goodbye IGN, Ngemu, Emufanatics... Strangely IGN boards worked, but Ngemu ones didn't...

Luckily school got out May 23rd.

I could explain to you how to get around it, but I dunno if I can on these boards... is it legal? ::cowers:: Don't hit me! OW!

Edit- Guess we'll have to wait for an answer... time to sleep

See if you can get to webwarper.net. If so, use it to get to any site you wish.

Alot of problems with schools blocking NGemu lately. Luckly my HS computer tecnicians get paid squat, thus they could care less in doing anything

I'll give you my little secret CGI website. It's no use to me anymore since all the blocks are gone now

use the website translators (aka altavista.com) u do a conversion from french to english, the proxy wont block it as the link will be formed as http://www.altavista.com/translate?d...6345?ngemu.com

as this is coming from altavista.com which should be trusted it will allow it

website translators are too odvious to some technician people. Those would be the first sites they would block.

Set up an external proxy server on a static IP. Tell IE (or whatever your browser is) that the proxy is located at that IP. Connect to whatever you want.

Alternatively, set up a BSD/*nix computer on the net somewhere, SSH tunnel a VNC connection to it, and fire up konqueror/mozilla/netscape/whatever else to whatever web site you want. It's even encrypted so nobody has a clue what you're doing if they don't look at your screen.

If you can't install anything, enlist the aid of someone with a cd burner, then have them download k-meleon and put it on a cd. There are directions for making it work here http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/forum...&i=2626&t=2626

If you set all your prefs before buring it to cd, k-meleon can be made to run 100% from the cd, without having to be able to write any files to the harddrive.

That works if they haven't disabled CD booting in the BIOS and didn't password protect the BIOS and didn't lock the case so you can't reset the BIOS. If all 3 of these conditions are false, it works... otherwise you won't be able to do that.

Next step: Bring in a laptop and try plugging it into the ethernet cable provided... hopefully they don't have a controlled domain that your laptop won't be a part of (My home network for example will not route any ethernet cards whose MAC addresses don't match the ones I'm familiar with...)

If that fails, install putty and open an SSH connection to a remote server. From there, either use lynx, links2, or links as a text browser, or open up a VNC connection via ssh tunnel (tunnel port 5900(local)->22(local->server)->5900(server)). Once that's open, fire up mozilla, konqueror, netscape, or whatever else you desire.

Why would they lock NGemu? Have you tried to ask? Tell them that this site DOESNT have game downloads, but about discussing games and emulation scene. Unless they are completely retarded (well, computer technicians (SP?) in school tend to be quite retarded mostly... ), they should understand...
