Problem installing DivX

When I try to install the newer versions of DivX (5.1 and up) it keeps crashing because of vice32ex.dll. Does anyone know what this file is from or where it is on my drive? I've tried searching my drive for it but it seems that the search function is broken. When I click search a box pops up with a yield sign in it and just an OK button. Google doesn't help either since all the results are in a different language. The same installer works on a friend's computer so it's not a bad file.

Re: Problem installing DivX

try restarting your computer, and when you turn it back on, the FIRST thing you do is open that. ive had problems installing drivers because ive had MPC open (oops!) or recently had it open. when i restarted and didnt open anything, it worked.

Re: Problem installing DivX

Restarting didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Re: Problem installing DivX

Hm vice doesn't seem like a good word. Dictionary define it as being sinful and bad. Might be a virus.

Well if search can't find it, then you might have to take a look in the registry.

Go to run and type "regedit" to bring up the registry editor then do a search for the file. If it finds it simply delete the key.

Re: Problem installing DivX

Google knows of no vice32ex.dll. Neither do I. Sorry.
