Dual Booting Beneficial?

I used some old programs on my Windows 98/SE comp that Windows XP doesn't like. Would it be beneficial to make 2 partitions?

BTW, if anyone has XP, please try this program and tell me the results: http://www.multimediaware.com/qv/

Re: Dual Booting Beneficial?

I've tried compatibility mode, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a complete piece of trash. I don't think MS spent enough time on it.

Re: Dual Booting Beneficial?

hmmmmm then a dual boot could be helpful, though it could be kind of tough to install win98 after you installed winxp....

Re: Dual Booting Beneficial?

....it's a DOS app. XP isn't on top of DOS like 9x/ME are. Asides.... why do you want to run this app?

Re: Dual Booting Beneficial?

You mean the one app I linked? Because it has features that I can't find in a Windows program. Like frame by frame video viewing and sequential image viewing.

Frame by frame? Like in VirtualDub?

Re: Dual Booting Beneficial?

besides if you already have XP its gonna be impossible for you to dual boot 98. 98 needs to be first.

Re: Dual Booting Beneficial?

Ah, just noticed; Media Player Classic also has the whole single frame advance thing.

It says 'Meri Kurisumasu! Mugi mugi'

Re: Dual Booting Beneficial?

So it does. Thanks Kane. I liked that program, but I guess I'll have to learn to get by without it(at least on my notebook ).

Wasn't that the media player that used code stolen from MPlayer? I can't remember...

Re: Dual Booting Beneficial?

I think there is a way, try installing Win98 and then repair with WinXP CD.

Re: Dual Booting Beneficial?

Yeah, but what's the point just for a media player app which there are multiple alternatives to.
