Re: Looking for PDF editor

Well, I dunno about editing, I think Acrobat is the only one that can do that.

But for creating, I recommend OpenOffice.org 1.1

Re: Looking for PDF editor

I create PDFs in the following ways:

1. Typeset a document in TeX and use pdftex to create a PDF. This is great for math stuff.

2. Print something to a postscript file and use ps2pdf to make a PDF from it. This works from word processors to browsers to text files to anything, but you need to be using a UNIX OS, since UNIX printing is built around postscript.

3. Create an image at 300dpi at the size in inches I want (usually US letter) using The GIMP (others like to use Photoshop) and export it. I usually do this to import PDFs, edit, and print them or for images, since it creates very large graphic PDFs that are only good for printing. I've filled out a few forms using this method.

Re: Looking for PDF editor

Similar to RamsusX.

BTW if you don't use linux you can achieve this by downloading miktex, ghostview and winedt.

Openoffice 1.1 for me too. It can covert text files to .pdf
