VIA HyperIon 4-in-1 v4.50 Released

Quote:
When it rains files it poors. Yet another hotty download today as VIA just released HyperIon 4-in-1 drivers version v4.50, released 25 November 2003.

VIA Hyperion drivers are suitable for any VIA chipset and all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. If you are looking for VIA 4in1 drivers, these are the drivers you are looking for. The "Hyperion" name was added to the 4in1 driver set name in December 2002. This is the sixth release with the Hyperion name. You can find more information here. Users with hybrid chipsets (with a VIA southbridge and AMD northbridge for example) should obtain drivers from their motherboard manufacturer
Download them here

Heh, PCMark04 just came out. I'm going to do a compairison then. Perfect timing. Hopefully they're not messed up like the 4.49's were for some people.

EDIT: Guru3D and many other sites are getting hammered from PCMark04. VIA's offical worked nice and fast for me. http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=300

PLEASE DON'T USE THEM..... They distryed my system partition. I done the tests twice to be sure of the symptoms... Back to VIA4in1 v49p3 (hopefully I done a full HD backup b4).

I used them for my KT4 Ultra board.

These happen to work just fine on my K6-2's mobo. A little quicker then the 4.48 in neverwinter nights ( about 2 fps gained, not much, but it helps )

It's always better to install the chipset drivers right after a clean fresh installation of windows, of course this always isn't possible.

Got it, made no increase or decrease in performance. Although according to chp it seems like using this on a rig with a partitioned hd may not be a good idea.

Quote from FileForums:

This driver will conflict with ATI Catalyst 3.9. After you've install this driver, when it just gets into windows (desktop icons loaded, but not the system tray icon) windows will pause like as it have freezed, then it'll tell you that there's "Delayed write error" with all the files that it's trying to load. Sometimes you'll get a BSOD instead of the message above. This have been varified by reinstalling windows XP(with SP1 only, no other updates/drivers/programs). If you're using ATI cards then it's advised to stick with 4.49vp2 for now, until VIA has released a fixed version which works with latest catalyst drivers. :cuss2:

Via has removed their Hyperion 4.50 driver that was released some days ago from download page. A possible reason could be an error when the ATI control center is installed that deletes the whole filesystem !!!
hmm

Nothing matter with ATI Control Center (Omega's don't use that one).... these drivers are simply BS.

Glad I don't have an ATI card then...

Fr0g, if you have an ATI card, just stay at the version your at, since 4.50 made no difference here.

It's sayd on the forums, that this build (4.50) is crappy with other VGA too (not only ATI). Hope you'll have no crash until a corrected one. I remember they had problems with the first release of 4.48 and 4.49 too.... :cuss2:

I have no problems with these whatsoever. FFXI benchmark score went up slightly, so i'm keeping them.
