Question Best windows IRC Client?

As the topic says. I use mirc because its the only one I know.

Some things im look for are minimze to tray, and better xdcc handling. I was trying to get a little quick refernce guide to win2k group policy, and I set the dcc to ignore, I was stuck waiting 150 seconds for another chance, once I got another spot I had to wait farking 20 mins to get the file again

The bot gave me this:
"*** You have a DCC pending, Set your client to receive the transfer. (150 seconds remaining until timeout)"

So why didnt it keep trying to resend the file, or was it, but mirc was being dumb ?

Re: Best windows IRC Client?

mIRC 6.x can minimize to tray, it is somewhere in the options. Just play around.

As for XDCC, I've never used it, so I can't comment. :P

Re: Best windows IRC Client?

I used to use BersIRC in the past, but ended up dropping it because of how buggy it was. It's still not a bad client.

Right now, like many people, I use mIRC just because it works. I also like its elaborate scripting system. I've used it to make a few scripts of my own.

Re: Best windows IRC Client?

I use mIRC 6.12 with the Invision plug-in. I think Invision has options to solve the problem you are talking about.

I'm afraid I don't have a link, just google it.

Re: Best windows IRC Client?

There are many IRC servers, same from mIRC, some modified mIRC scripts (things like PNP, Polaris, etc) and some DOS styles, like the old *****X
