FS to Windowed

Well, it may sound weird, but I'd like to know if there is a way to force a game to run in Windowed mode instead of Fullscreen...

I know that some games do it easily with a parameter/option

but I want it for games that don't have this feature (eg. Fallout 2)

i know that you can make programs do that in XP, make a shortcut, right click and go to Properties and it says Run: and you can choose normal window, maximized, and minimized....i dont know if that helps though

IIRC, it's only for windows on the desktop, not for games

right, that's what i was trying to imply when i just said "programs", i didnt really mean games...

well, i guess it only works if your game has a "maximize" button.

however, i dont think that you can do this with just any game. it has to have an option for it (i.e. CS 1.6)

It doesn't work with Fallout2 (plus, I need to run the game from FAME), else I can't load my save

Some games actually force you to use fullscreen. If you really need to get to the desktop, just use the Windows key on your keyboard

You, but actually, it bothers me to Alt-tab everyitme I hear a new connected buddy in Trillian

yeah, and in counterstrike you get a few glitches. in cs1.5 the sound would be gone when you get back...and in 1.6 i did alt tab the other day and when i came back the mouse pointer was on the screen (wouldnt disappear) AND my guns had mysteriously switched to left handed alignment

Yeah, that's exactly the problems I've got...
thouhg since I installed XP, the sound problem doesn't happen often, but instead, it switch to Software sound and my cursor blinks in the center of the screen

You could try Alt+Enter but it doesn't always work.

if you are using an AIM screen name on Trillian, get the program DeadAIM. it has MSN style popup notifications. thats what i use, and it's really helpful when im watching a movie and i want to see who's signing on

Nah, really, I do it cause some ppl use ICQ (Boltz', DA, ES, Betamax), some others use AIM (most of my french contacts), others prefer MSN (R2RX, Carnage...), and a very small number of guys use Yahoo

i mostly use AIM, but a few friends use MSN.

i use yahoo but only with my girlfriend for webcam
