Question DV files are interlaced in mediaplayer 9

for some reason, files that i capture with Adobe Premiere are interlaced when i play them back in windows media player 9. it's really bugging me, because they dont play back interlaced in Premiere at all.

they are encoded with dvsd (Microsoft's DV codec) and they have PCM audio ( like it matters).

is there any option im missing out on? interestingly, on my past 6 reformats of this computer, i've never had this problem (this is the first). when i got this computer i was relieved to find that my videos were no longer interlaced, like my old computer.
