Winamp controlling the windows volume?

Is it me or when I try to increase/decrease the volume bar in WinAmp, it's going to affect the Windows Volume and Control settings??? I noticed that the Wave bar will be decreased if I decrease the volume bar in Winamp.

Have you guys encountered this before? This is odd. Windows Media Player didnt do anything to the Wave bar when I try to increase/decrease the volume.

Any opinions on this? Thanks!

Re: Winamp controlling the windows volume?

On my old comp and on my new comp the volume slider in Winamp controls the Wave output slider, so I guess its a normal thing.

Re: Winamp controlling the windows volume?

I do believe that the directsound plugin does control the windows volume. Pain in the arse for me too. I had to use the WaveOut plugin and select "alternate volume" (or something that was alternate)
