taking the audio ONLY out of an AVI.
i have a concert on my computer in AVI form. Gspot says it's 160 kbps (pretty good) and the whole thing sounds excellent. i want to make it into a 3 disc set (it's 2 hours, 1 minute long). my first thought was audiograbber. i have no problem with that...it's just that there's is hardly a time when i have 2 hours when im not using sounds so i can do "what u hear" on the recording.
is there a program to de-mux audio and video, leaving me with just the wav or mp3? im gonna split the tracks with nero wav editor....all i want is just the audio file by itself |

Re: taking the audio ONLY out of an AVI.
That message use to appear when the audio is VBR MP3. If you're going to extract the audio, don't worry about that.

Re: taking the audio ONLY out of an AVI.
That problem could be because of file format.
Before executing "Save Wav", go to "Audio->Full Procesing Mode", then "Audio -> Compresion", and select the first choice: "No compression (PCM)". When you execute "save wav", the resulting file will be a PCM WAV (no compressed), later you can convert it to some compressed format (mp3, ogg) or burn it to a CD (depending for what you will use it)

Re: taking the audio ONLY out of an AVI.
well it's 160 kbps mp3 says Gspot and virtual dub. the problem is that it says something about a truncated file. i guess i downloaded it wrong?
by the way when i export to wav it's perfectly fine |

Re: taking the audio ONLY out of an AVI.
Virtaul dub can't handle VBR well at all.
