allocate bandwidth ?

Since i'm on 56k i need every single bit of bandwidth i can get. Does anyone know of a program which can show you all in and out going traffic and then let you allocate bandwidth to it.
eg. you could put 6Kb on download and the other 2Kb on other stuff.

Re: allocate bandwidth ?

Well if you use a download program like Flashget you can do something like that, but most of the time you have to do it manualy. AFAIK, there are no free/reasonably cheap packet shapers out there for Windows.

Re: allocate bandwidth ?

DUmeter measures your in/outgoing traffic. Don't know about it's price, though.

I don't think you could do that as Windows Update probably runs in hte same thread as IE

Re: allocate bandwidth ?

ok bad example.
