YumeBench - Anime benchmark

Yes, I was able to hack through the school network to access this site

I just found something rather interesting on majorgeeks called YumeBench. I guess it's some sort of benchmark that has a anime girl dance while it is running ^__^ I think I saw something similar to this way back when here, but I can't read the home page to see if this was old, because it is in japanese

Well, I haven't downloaded it (yet :embl: ), but it seems to be a combined demo (in the non-playable sense) and system benchmark for Yumeria, a 3DCG love adventure game for PlayStation 2 by Namco... I didn't realize there was a PC version, but my guess would be that it requires a pretty hefty 3D card to run, and Namco wanted to make sure that everyone could check their systems were powerful enough before buying the game since those kind of required specs (P3-500, DX9 card, etc) are rather unusual for a dating sim.

I'm downloading it now - I'll post a proper description later, once I've had a chance to check it out.

[edit] Hmm, well, it seems to serve two functions - the "demo" mode plays (non-interactively) a few scenes from the game, with voice, etc in a loop (this may well be designed for running on a
90shop demo machine), showing off the character interaction bits. There aren't any shots of the battle sequences or anything, sadly.

The "benchmark" mode runs a subset of the "demo" mode sequences (namely, the bits where the girls show off their swimsuits ^___^) repeatedly, and clocks up a score based on how long it takes. Not exactly scientific, but highly entertaining nonetheless

I knew this was mentioned before in the fourms. It was when Kawaii Marks first came out. I think it was in the same thread as it....

Don't think so... because the first release of this game, the PS2 version, was released on April 24, 2003. The PC port isn't even released yet.

The KawaiiMark thingy was way older than April 24 I think, so it can't be the same as this one...

Yup, works for me as well (9000 Pro), although FSAA doesn't work with it. A cute little bench I must say.

You did WHAT? o_0

j/k of course.

Well here's a handy little tip: Before you make a choice during a date when she asks you your opinion about the date, savestate. Then guess/reload savestate/guess again until you find this answer. This means that you made the best choice. it applies to all the characters. Try it.

Itwas the choice about what to do for hte culture festival. 2 sets of Kanjii and I don't know what hte Kanjii for 'gift shop' is.
It's annoying as my last memcard save is back on the 11th of July. I think that means I get to do the sports day again... but that's OK, as I like trazelling at light speed. Have you ever done that? Got such a high sports rating that the screen warps and goes to a FP view during the 100m?
