Help my VCD won't read on CDROM!

hi guys, i need a little help here. First, I don't know if this's legal or not, I just want to ask this. If it's not legal then just tell me and I'll stop asking.

I just bought a VCD FinKL album. (it's an old one, I know). But when I wanted to play it on computer, it said my CDROM wasn't ready. So, I moved the CD to my VCD player. And it worked! But I still want to play it on my computer knowing that my VCD player often used by family. anyone can help me? Some software or manipulation so that my CDROM can read that thing? Thanks

Have you tried it on a different computer/CD-ROM drive? Chances are it could be your drive that's cranky and doesn't want to read that disk.

If the cd drive is not ready then is not related to the software player.
Chances are your aspii layer is damaged, try installing force aspii.

perhaps it's because of the copy protection?

hmmm...I used Cyberlink PowerDVD, XingMPEG and Windows Media Player. On the second thought, I guess it's my CDROM drive. Just now, the files showed up in Explorer. But after I restart my CPU, It didn't show up again. Just hafta buy another drive I think

Definitely your drive. Some drives are finiky with certain media, that's why there are firmware updates for them to increase media compatibility.

You could also try copying the VCD and see if the CDROM "sees" the new copy.

"HERE...MY SECRET FOR YOUR CD-ROM...!"
1. take your cd-rom from your computer and open it carefully...!
2. find a small "VR"(variable resistor) near optic.
3. adjust that vr to left rotate.
4. try your cd. if doesn't work, you are wrong when adjust...!

Er... be careful with that. Might void warranty, or damage something else.

it's a daredevil to do that, but maybe if I had some old CD-ROM drives of my friends with this problem I will try using this way.
