A question for videophiles

Does anyone know of a video compression codec that has really low spec requirements? The compression doesn't have to be good, I just don't want to use uncompressed RGB. I also need something that can run on a Pentium processor with decent speed. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Your question is a bit vague, but among the codecs I use nowadays the fastest is Huffyuv:

Does your Pentium processor has at least MMX?

If no, then try to use the INDEO codecs... You can find them from the list of codecs when you install Windows (all versions).

Else, I'm affraid that All the modern codecs for AVI or MPEG, QT.... use extensively the MMX, SSE or 3Dnow technologies.

Well, what I mean is a codec that requires only minimal processing power to decode (for encoding videos that will playback decently on a Pentium-class PC). Anyways, I'll try out the codec you suggested.
