New hard disk on WinXP

It's my 1st time on XP and I'd like to know how can I partition and format a new hard disk on winxp. The disk is recognized by both BIOS and WinXP but no letter has been assigned to it 'cos it's not formatted yet, how can I do it on WinXP?

Goto Computer management > Disk management. You can work from there.... or alternatively, you could use PQMagic. It's all up to you.
