Question Need advice on multi-boot

Tomorrow I'm gonna help a friend installig his new hard disk and he asked me to install XP, 98SE and Linux on it. What I just wanted to know is, after partitioning the hard disk which is the best order to install those systems? I was thinking of 98/xp/linux so I could get lilo to recognze all the other systems and be properlly configured.
Any suggestion?

Your order is the best. 98,XP, Linux, so every OS will recognize the already installed OSes. Don't forget to make sure that XP leaves diskspace for Linux; currently, only Mandrake 9.1 can shrink NTFS partitions, and you should not bet on it. A friend of mine wanted to shrink his NTFS partition using Mandrake, but there were some unmoveable files that made this operation impossible. PartitionMagic could not handle it, eighter. (For those who wonder: No, neighter Mandrake nor PartitionMagic did destroy the NTFS file system. They simply offered to free some hundred MBs of disk space, by far too less for a decent Linux installation)

I'm going for mandrake 9.1 It's a 40gb disk so I'll create a 15gb partition for xp, another 15gb for 98se and a 10gb partition for linux.

What I did in my old multiboot was I programmed the XP bootloader to boot my Linux partition. Actully it worked quite well and I have to say that I am now quite the fan of the XP bootloader. This might be unnessisary becuase this was done in the old days when none of the Linux bootloaders could boot a NTFS partition (but could read NTFS... hmm thats Linux...). It would be cool, but prolly too much work
