Angry PC Game Backup disk

Does anybody know a program I can use to make a backup disk for PC games? I want to back up my games, after what happened to some of my other games. I went out one night and I came home when my brother was having a party and a few of my games were stepped on (BG2 and Vampire: the masquerade). Anyway, I tried to use nero and do a direct cd copy but it gives me some error crap. Somebody please help me.

I did make a copy with uh...i think it was cdrwin, but when i placed the cd in, it didn't recognize that it was the game disk. I tried to manually run it and it wouldn't work.

Copy it with clonecd, it makes an exact copy of it. If the burnt disc doesn't work, then make and iso with clonecd( with subchannel reading) and burn it with any other program that supports .cue

Most games use a copy protect system,You need a crack to make most backups work,Don't bother asking here

Your CDRW drive has to be able to make 1:1 copies aswell. Blindread/Blindwrite is good for making 1:1 backups aswell.

CLoneCD is the best 1:1 burning app out there, as for some games (like NWN) that use SafeDisk 1 or 2 I don't think that you can back them up.

I have tried (I always seem to drop original CDs in ways that result in their utter destruction ) and the backup fails the safedisk check (in NWN this is when that stupid splash screen pops up before the meu loads). I had to use a backupCD Safedisk crack (can't post links to this here if I am correct, so I won't ) to get it to work... not ideal at all in my opinion.

When using CloneCD : make sure subchannel data and subchannel audio data option enabled. Just a notice : NOT all CD reader can read subchannel data (where mostly CD protection stored).

also if clonecd detects your country to be USA or japan it will not allow certain options that allow you to make perfect backups. clonecd can copy safedisc protection, both 1 and 2.

Yes, Clonecd can make 1:1 copies. However, if you want to backup Safedisc protected CDs without cracking/patching, your CDWriter must be able to support Correct EFM Encoding. And even as such, it still takes a darned long time to do so.

Well, daemon tools emulate safedisc so if you only want to back up a game just make an iso and load it with daemons tools and select safedisc emulation. thats all.

Never Winter Nights dows not use SafeDisc tech. It uses the Sony SecuROM method of protection. The v.1.0 is the normal verion of SecuROM, but the update (v1.21) updates to a new SecuROM scheme similar to UT2003.

Hmmm, I didn't know that. Well, the backup CD crack works fine so I guess it doesn't matter... As for Daemon tools, I didn't know that it had safedisk emulation... (I kinda D/loaded it and never used it... ) thanks for the info

He could just change his country to be United Kingdom in Windows settings and he would be able to make perfect copies without changing the language in Windows.

clone cd 4 is great in making a backup but just in case you are having trouble try alcohol 120% here http://www.alcohol-software.com/ in cases where clone cd fails to do the job, alcohol sometimes do it better than clone cd in backing up newer games w/ newer protection.
