Direct X problem.

OK. I've just did a fresh install of WinXP Pro and upgraded to DX9. When I open up DxDiag to do some tests, this shows up....This supposed to be normal? If not, how to fix it?

I use a Visiontek GeForce 3 Ti 200 64MB while my brother, who uses MSI GeForce3 Ti 200 128MB does not have this problem.

Uninstall the driver and try to change to other driver...use drivercleaner at driverheaven.net to completely remove the driver(and registry of course)...just give it a try

I was having a similar problem with my graphics card (geforce2 mx)
PROBLEM is with directx 9
just uninstall directx 9 using utility such as directx buster etc. and then reinstall it.
If it doesn't work uninstall it again and install directx 8 since dx 9 has lots and lots of bugs .

mhh I wouldn't recommend you trying to uninstall any version of DirectX, speaking for my experience, I ended installing windows all over again after using those DX uninstall utilities.
A question for you, in the DirectX files tab, does it show any error/problem message with the DX files?

Nope, nothing.
I just need to know why exactly I can't use the AGP Texture Acceleration even with a GeForce3 Ti 200 and a fresh install of WinXP w/latest Dets.

Edit: Me use ASUSTeK A7A266......

Maybe it's a limitation of the mobo...

Have you checked in your bios settings if you have it enabled?

There's no way to disable it in the BIOS. There's only options for AGP Aperture Size.

Why on the earth you want to install DX9 on a DX 8.x VGA board?

Are you sure you're using the final retail version of DirectX 9 or just a beta version.Or else go to www.guru3d.com and download the latest nVIDIA Detonator drivers.I use a GeForce 2 MX 400.On my Win XP Pro,I use the final retail version of DirectX 9 and I don't have any problem with the AGP.Is your graphic hardware PCI or AGP?

.......I am using Dx9redist, using Det 42.86, and the GeForce3 Ti 200 IS AGP.
If it was PCI I wouldn't have asked...

Thanks for the help here...
One more question, would there be a significant performance impact if AGP Texture Acceleration was turned off compared to enabled?

The AGP bus is able to compete less for processor time compared with the PCI bus thus it runs faster. So that preety much answers your question
