Connectix Virtual PC, and VMWare IIRC can do that. Problem is? No hardware support.
ZSnes I suppose will work, as will Snes 9x, Visual Boy advance and possibly ePSXe using PEOPs, but they'll be horribly slow in comparison.
Basicaly if you want a gaming machine get a PC.

in Comparison to what?

I've seen Macs emulate the PSX at perfectly acceptable speeds.

Couldn't say for Espxe. But with VGS they emulate fine. Most of the time theirs not much advantage to using Peops over VGS, But I imagine Peops would do fine as well. The Macs have reached 1.4 Ghz now.

You are talking major emulation overhead here.
Anyway, the point of the thread was that he wanted a Windows emu for the Mac to play emus. If he just wants emus for the specific system, then VGS is a much better option.

Well Emulating the Windows Kernal really doesn't require that much proccessing power. Since I don't own a mac. And probably never will. I'll take your word for it ^^

Kinda off-topic, but VMWare does not run in a Mac and likely never will.

You tried running Virtual PC or VMWare on your machine? I have.

Kane. I said I don't have a mac.

And secondly. Emulating Windows Applications is completely dependent on the hardware called for given the different aplication.

I know you don't like macs. But PC emulation isn't that bad. The Latest macs are pretty powerful.

Macs are not that different from PCS in respect to hardware. The only thing thats difficult to emulate is the CPU architecture.

Sound Tech, Video tech, All follow similar standards to PC.

You're missing what I'm saying. Try running VMWare on your machine and see how slow the apps you run on the virtual PC run. I've used Virtual PC and VMWare. The former on a G3 and on my current machine. It's slow. Very slow.

g3 is not a new mac anyhow.

Vmware never ran that slow on my machine. I am curious. What is your proccessor priority set at?

That'd have a major performance impact On performance with software like Vmware.

Never bothered changing it. This was before I started running lots of apps on my machine anyway.
Maybe it was a bit of an exagerattion, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it less than halved the performance of any given machine.

Actually, VMWare is quite fast, but AFAIK it's not really an emulator, it emulates only part of the hardware (like disk I/O), and accesses the host's own hardware for other tasks. That's also the reason it's only available for the X86 platform.

Virtual PC for the X86 works in a similar fashion, but the Mac version is a complete emulator, and from my experience it's much slower then VMWare.

Edit: Made post a bit clearer.
