Alright...I heard many things that Linux is more capable of this and that and its more stable...Im currently using Windows ME but I was thinking of switching it...what will I get of it? Doesnt it have less videocard support and so on?

Well, I'll tell you right up front that I couldn't get my radeon 8500 working in linux. if you want to run games, you're going to have to do some work and buy an nvidia card, if you don't already have one. If you want to do office-type stuff (or network scanning/auditing, or similar
), linux would be great for you... but it's a STEEP learning curve.on the flip side, if you have an nvidia card and wanted to emulate or something, ePSXe runs great in linux. even get a nice gaussian blur FSAA method if you have a geforce 3 or 4. but very, very few commercial games run in linux... unreal tournament, UT2k3, quake 1, 2, 3, and half-life (with work) will work in linux, but that's all i can think of without buying some called wine-x... and under wine-x ur games will run at around half speed. of course, running games (other than epsxe) is pretty advanced. i started (read: attempted) running linux 6 years ago... and i consider it too much trouble to screw with half-life. don't take this the wrong way, as i love linux... but from the sound of ur post, it just doesn't seem like you'd benefit from it.
