need video capture help from a camcorder

well, this is my problem.
I got a vid card which is pv-bt878p+rev 4C which is borrowed.
I need to encode a vid that's in the camcorder.
which program should I use to encode ?
I need help fast because i need to finish this before 11 am tomorrow.

oh please helpppp
what program can I use for encoding so the files will get small.
I was just using virtualdub but the size of the file it's just too biggg

I am sorry. I can't help much, as I couldn't even encode my own video.

Hopefully someone knowledgable in such things will see your post though.
