I use Photoshop, but I am sure that's out of your price range.
(nevertheless, it's a good program). An alternative is Paint Shop Pro, or Corel Draw. I personally prefer Photoshop, but they both do the job just fine. If you have Microsoft Office, or Corel Wordperfect, they both come with a nice photo editing program, that should do the job just fine. If you don't have either of those, you are stuck with the freeware ones. MS Paint is at about the bottom of that list, and comes free with Windows. It allows you to cut and paste at any rate. You can try searching on the internet for something better. I always hear good things about Ifranview (or something like that)

You must be referring to layers. For that there's no greater program than Adobe Photoshop. Of course, you can try a free alternative, The GIMP.

I'm using microsoft office xp and i guess when you say it has a editing program you are referring to the menu inser image and the tool bar that appears. It does the job but t gave me the idea it stretched the image a lot and made the image look a little pixelated. Its just my idea?
Well, i guess im getting corel draw. I wont have to buy it. I found this program came with my printer (hewlett packard) but never noticed it until now. Just when i was willing to give away some cash... |

Kazuya, if you have MS Office, take a closer look at it.
If you examine the CD closely, you will find an option hidden away somewhere to install Microsoft Photo Editor. That's the program that you want. I am not entirely sure if it supports layering or not, but it's a nice enough program. The thing is that the installation of it is not one of the default options, and it's a real ***** to find it on the installation menu. Just give it a search. |

ok i'll try to find it (whatever to make more use of the money i gave to microsoft). I'll download the gimp (it appears to make good layers). And, about adobe ilustrator, i dont know, maybe i'll try a trial version if it does exist. I always wanted that program. Thanks a lot

Totally different concept: one works with bitmaps while the other with vectors. Kazuya: Keep in mind that The GIMP is a windows port of a Linux program, so it's bound to be buggy. While it might have a similar feel to Photoshop, it takes a bit longer to get the hang of. Anyway, here's a link to some info: http://jimmac.musichall.cz/graphics.php3

That MS Photo Editor is basically an image viewer... there really isn't anything that you can do with it.
