has anyone installed those new nvidai drive 40.72?. well if your going to don't bother on win xp. i installed them the graphics card diplay propties keep disapering when i clicked on the nvida graphics card tab i could not shut down my comp in any way. has anyone else had these probs with these driver?. well if you want to try it out here where to download but download at your own risk at your own risk i repeat

Thanks for the information! but besides everything so good, one thing bad about it is that U posted in the wrong thread. For drivers, usually software discussion is prefered.

Just wait for the menu to load(Could be slow depending on your system)

nope it just disapears the menu on 40.41 comes up fine no loading time at all. and the menu should be the same as that

Raiden01: did you use the Detonator 40.41 fix? it's useful for every 40's dets. get it at http://www.guru3d.com ; that might help

I had some wierd problems with the 40.72 drivers. When I installed them my sound card stopped working. No sound came out of any of the output ports. I used XP system recover to revert back to my 40.41 drivers and the problem was solved.

Some people had problem migrating to the Detonator 40 series, there's a special fix at guru3d that allow you sweep every registry entry if your going from 30.82's to 40.41s.
Anyway I have just removed the nvidia's drivers from the control panel add/remove programs, restarted my computer and then installed the 40.72 without problems

Just get the 40.80, thats what i have. I still have tons of problems. The UT2003 and NOLF2 demos crash every time i play them randomly. Has anyone else had this problem?

Well, 40.XX series are still non-WHQL certified, so there can be problems.
It's common sense.
As for me, no problems for now, no speedups either...

If you feel like it, yeah.
WHQL certified drivers are supposed to have less bugs.
You could roll back drivers if you don't like your current one.

No sound came out of any of the output ports.
