regarding fonts

ok... so its like this. Ive download the diablo font coz its look great. You should put it in the fonts directory right?.... so put it there with other fonts.

so when I tried looking for the diablo font, I could not find it in the font list of MS Word and different graphic program like Corel and Adobe illustrator.

What seems to be the problem??? I've deleted it and download another one because maybe the first one might be corrupt but its still not there. Any solution from you guys??? Thanks in advance.

in theory yes but, you need to follow the install procedure otherwise you won't see the font as you're experiencing now. go tothe fonts folder and in the file menu chosse the install font and follow the instructions.

go to control panel then click on Appearence and Themes, at the left side you should see "See also" and below this, the fonts folder, click on it and you'll see the image I uploaded before, from there click file->install new font and see the pic below.
I reccomend you to put the font you want to install in a different folder than the fonts folder, as you see then browse for the font and select it and click OK, your new font is installed now.

well I'm currently at Win98... and I see no install font. Although when I use the help command, it shows that there should be the "install font" on teh file folder but I got none. I'll get a screenshot later on when I go home from school. What seems to be the problem???

We had this problem with my mother's computer, Win98 incidently. I don't know how the problem originated, but I do know how to fix it.

The actual "Fonts" folder is in your Windows directory; quit to DOS and type in this:

attrib +s c:\windows\fonts

This assumes that Windows is installed to C:

Quatro: Access the Fonts folder from Control Panel. I see you're using Windows Explorer to get there.

Quatro, Allnatural is right. I made the little experiment and actually the tip works.

Just type what you see in the image below and the install new font will appear

Shiori, it doesn't matter if you access the fonts folder within Windows Explorer or via Control Panel, the install new font option appears either way.
