What program to test performance ?

I know it sounds absurd but I dont have a program to test my PC's capabilities. I had that madonion thing, but it was a year ago and I lost it when I formatted my HD. Anyone knows of a good program ( with small d/l size if possible

) that can test my comp's performance ? Thanks .

I like PCMark 2002. It's a new madonion benchmark, but its an overall benchmark, rather than just 3D. The download size is pretty small.

I would personally advice sisoft sandra.Its good and provides you all the information including good or bad points of your computer and ways to improve performance.

Sisoft sandra is awesome, it tells me almost everything about my pc. However, I cant find the simulation test for fps rate , so i guess madonion would be helpfull as well. Should have mentioned it earlier

If you bought Ontrack SystemSuite 4.0, it comes with WinBench 99

3dmark2k1se if you want to test directx8 performance.. 3dmark2k if you want a good directx7 benchmark.. THey aren't real world benchmarks, but they do give you a good idea of how your system performs..

only use the 3dmark benchmarks for newer video cards which have Hardware T&L. i do reccommend however the 3dmark 99 max.

there is also a benchmark in opengl called "gl excess"

I checked it with adware, and it doesnt detect it as a spyware. Is it really a spyware , since ill miss this helluva good program...

YEah, SiSoft Sandra is quite good, but I haven't used it in a while. What I like about PCMark is that you can compare it to other PCs in the same performance range as yours. It's not entirely accurate, but it's a pretty good indication of how well you have your PC tweaked.
