Alone in the Dark and some gamma plz.... (quickly, Help me!!!!!!!)

well...... upgraded to winXP.... and as always, my monitor showed hell of dark graphics........ I used to use Powerstrip to handle it by raising gamma correction...... but as it doesn't work anymore on my PC.... I was wondering.... hey guys, do you know where can I get any software that let me change brightness and gamma correction for my sis 620 videocard and Qbex Cx-498 monitor?

It's something called Show Me The Colors. I never used it, but you can change color settings and probably gamma settings. And best of all, it's freeware. Get it at http://g6tech.cjb.net/

How old is your monitor? It might be worth getting a new one if thats the case. You can get a nice 17inch monitor fairly cheap at the moment. I recently baught a new 17inch monitor for about $270 (AUS). I'm not worried much by the actual quality difference of an expensive monitor and a cheap one. As long as it has a good maximum resolution and a good refresh rate.

well.... my monitor is a Qbex CX-498..... I think it is rather old...... but I don't know.... maybe it is bnot the monitor, but the Video card..... besides, that "show me the colors"..... already downloaded it..... it doesn't change any settings, the only thing it does is showing colors...... maybe it is needed when you have to change your monitor settings from the hardware itself, but no more

Then i would probably recomend upgrading to a new monitor and a new graphics card. Seeing these are some of the main thing you need to get good uality graphics and visuals i would say that it is best to upgrade. If you used your PC alot i would do it sooner rather than later.

well....... I don't have the money to upgrade yet....... but my hardware will do the job until then...... I'm just lookig for any software that adjusts gamma and/or bightness

hey, I have a question...... is it me or you can't definitively change gamma in winXP?..... tried to raise it using Pete's D3D 1.61 (cool!) and it didn't work either...

There is no need to change the monitor just check the configurations. First check for drivers upgrade, then try using NVmax for changing the colours.
