can you guys give a good dvd ripping tool and divx encoder, my friends got a region free dvd and i wanna encode it to divx.

Go to the site lazywanker said, and get DVD decrypter, and Flask MPEG6. Just make sure you get all the plugins for it, so it can read subtitles, and encode to WMV (Which is actualy a really good format)

Take a look at this one. It's based on Flask but it's much much faster.
The Homepage is in french so you have to look for XMPEG. There you will have choice for English.

personally i perfer using nandub, but you can make your own choice, just check out http://www.doom9.org for all sorts of info / tools for encoding dvd into divx mpeg4 streams.
