The only way i can think of getting the volume louder is to play the file back in Windows Media Player, and use the graphic equalizer to amplify the sound. Do this by putting all the settings as high as possible. This will then in turn make the playback louder. I hope it helps

Maybe Virtualdub has an option to amplify the sound.

Yes, but you can't save MPEGs with VirtualDub, so you'd have to re-encode the videos into DivX or something.

You misunderstood me. VirtualDub can open a MPEG file, and it can change several things in the sound, including volume. But this program can only save AVI files, so if you want to use it you'll be forced to re-encode the file into AVI (that's why I mentioned DivX, it's a common codec nowadays).

It's a simple process. If you don't have it, you can download the codec from www.divx.com and install it on your machine. Then get Virtualdub from www.virtualdub.org and install that on your machine as well. I don't use Virtualdub very often. So, somebody else is going to have to explain to you how to amplify the volume on your video.
