aftr i downloaded a file from the site and norton scans the file...

i recieve this message...

whats going on???

i dont have partition magic, i do seperated mt hard drive but the use of FDISK command in DOS mode so whats the meaning of this???

I guess it says just that. the MBR has been modified somehow, most likely by a virus of sorts.

so what will i do??? if i scan it with norton it will still say the same thing... i dont want to reformat my drive ots been 8 months since the last time ive done that...

i hope its not a trojan...

and i just recently downloaded a file here at ngemu...

the file was cdrmooby...

Select restore boot record, then scan with Norton Antivirus. That's the best thing you can do. If it's clean, then there was nothing to worry about. If it is infected, then Norton Antivirus will help you fix it.

This may be a little bit off topic, but what is that bar thing you have at the top of your desktop rei_fox? Just interest. It looks like a download monitor, if it is what is it called and where did you get it?

I meant this thing here (Pictured). I was looking for a download manager and i saw this.

Just a few idea to heplp you find the problem-
-If its the file that is the problem delete it and see what happens.
-Download the file from somewhere else and try that one.
-IF you are scanning with nortan does it find a virus before it displays this message or what happens?

Its called netsonic.Its supposed to be an internet accelerator.(works great for few people).

Coming back to main problem you should try restoring first and run the virus scan again.

yeah its called netsonic... it caches the webs information for optimal web browsing... its good for 56kers like me... so when i visit the web again it displaces the files faster...

so i did what you told me and the norton did not find any viruses...

thats after i restarted my PC i hope its gone...

the main problem here in our place are irritating hackers they usually steal accounts from people here...

theres a site offering hacking programs...

actually im member in that site but i only have a very very VERY small rank...

maybe the program i got from there since then is acting on my PC talk about karma... =)

napster? I had completely forgotten about that thing. I tried AG once, but I hated it. I like the KaZaA network a lot better.

Anyway, ad-aware should just get rid of the spyware while leaving your program intact.
