anyway to

hmm im kinda of in a BIG problem here.....

i cant find my winxp pro cd and im wondering if any of you know a way to ..say back up my winxp install to another drive
i have 3 and i just wanna back up the essiental windows xp files not all the other stiuff i got installed i want to set it up so i can reformat and clean iinstall from the d:\ drive cause my computers is starting to get flooded with crap and i keep getting the same error message when i start up but theres no problems
i have no clue if this is possible
and if it isnt.........I HOPE I FIND THAT DAMNED DISK ITS WORTH A LOT OF MONEY

is there a way with ghost to back up windows xp only and not all the other stuff i have installed.... and i suprisiingly have norton ghost it came with my old norton utilities cd i have never used it before though
ill have to try in in about 9 hours from now when i get off work thanks

back up windows xp only? well, unless you want to search for all the files that got installed when you installed xp, i suggest you ask a friend for the cd or ... ahem... "download" it. although, if you do "download" it, don't really discuss it here.

i dunno, but if you lived near me (and i trusted you) i would let you borrow my cd, but, i dunno where you live nor i know you

I don't think XP copies the installation files to the HD like ME does. So your **** outta luck. PM.

Norton ghost saved my butt quite a few times. You could try just backing up your windows, root, and program files directories. That would probably be enough to restore it.

im pretty sure xp copies everything cause when i install something it asks me to put in the cd or use the files on the hdd i just dont know where the installation files are stored
Time to Hunt....
