I'm using WinXP home edition as well and cmpatibility mod dosn't work.

I know Windows 2000 has this problem 2,

I've e-mailed eidos and square, eidos e-mailed me back stating the OS wasn't Compatible with the engine that runs FF7pc and that thay don't think thay will make a patch to fix this.......
but that was probably like 1 1/2 years ago....

not sure if its the same problem with XP, you could always try e-mail'n them but mosta the pplz that work there r lazy....so u most likely won't get a reply......

It is the same problem. I E-mailed them, and they blamed it all on XP/2K incompatability.

yup the psx one looks 100 times better. the movies look like horse crap on the pc version. it should have never been released for the pc. the pc version has way too many bugs (incompatibilities).

i disagree I'm still glad it came out for pc just cause not every1 had a psx to play FF7 on back in the day when it came out, and there really wern't any good emu's out that it would be able to play on.

I remember the first time i played FF7 was on the PC, but when i finally played the psx version i noticed every little detail that sucked bout the pc 1

the only thing that sucked was how when it came out it didn't support any other cards really besides the voodoo and ATI cards....it should have been released with at least support for the riva and the TNT cards thay were out back when the pc version came out....

We can make our own movies if we have the PSX version.
Use the best encoder

Thank god for Nvmax. I enabled the option "BSOD infinite loop fix" and it worked without comaptibility mode as well. If you want FF7 to work on PC use Nvmax and enable that option. The damn infinite loop bug coused it to screw up. Eidos are right it's not there fualt it's hoever made the infinite loop bug's fualt.

Also forgot to add that the Riva patch also screws up the game. I don't use it. Yeh you are right to get it to work on Geforce 3's anyway is just to enable 8-bit textures through rivatuner www.nvworld.ru

I dunno which it was, running it under Win98SE or using the BSOD fix, but the chocobo races work now for me . I lost
