FF7 PC Version on Windows Vista

I need some help I've been trying to run FF7 PC version on Vista for the past two days no matter what I do I keep getting the black screen when I run the game. I've patched it reinstalled it ran it in compatability mode and as amdminastrator. Please anyone who knows anything I need some help badly. I've even installed the truecodec patch for the movies just still doesn't fix anything do I need to run this game in XP?

FF7PC works fine in vista, as I use it in Windows 7. All you ever needed to do was enable windows 98/ me compatability and run this program as administrator. It should work fine unless you dl'ed some warez copy like the Ultima version.

Try updating directx 9 and graphic driver.

ok I've got direct X 10 and I've got the original game so weird the screen still goes black

Stop screwing around with the pain in the ass PC version and play the PSX version on epsxe upscaled. It's much better.

Yeah i wanted to say that to, while the "standard" version of ff 7 isn't worth the trouble with the enhancements from mods it certainly is XD.

If you ever downloaded K-Lite codec pack or any ffdshow codec filters, try to disable
ffdshow from decoding True-Motion videos.. it solved the problem for me

And what did they do to the Cid model? It looks really odd to me. Still cool they got to hack the hell out of this game.

When you say "I've got direct X 10" keep in mind you are not saying you have Direct X 9. They are two different things.

Custom graphics driver for FF7/FF8

try using this custom ff7pc graphics driver, it uses opengl. you can even set it to whatever resolution you want. mostly it allows you to replace textures.
