XP and 98SE dual boot

Ill install 98SE and Xp because I NEED to use VGS for a couple of games... in fact, that's the only reason why I'll be installing 98SE. Anyway, will a 500MB partition be enough for 98SE considering what ill be using it for?

Of course, d00d. The full installation of Win98SE takes at its maximun around 270MB. So, unless you need to make some mirror of any CD you'll use, 500MB is definitely enough for the usage you specified

I can tell you're only doing this kind of sacrifice for Tokimemo (or Shiori herself, for that matter)! You just can't get enough of it

I was just wondering whether ~250MB for the swap file will be enuff. As for VGS' use, I don't know what you're talking about.

How much mem do you have? If you have over 384, you can get away with disabling the swap file.

It's generally a good idea to enable the swap file. Windows performs better with it, even if you have over 512 MB of RAM.

270 MB? Wow, that's small. My Windows 98 SE takes up around 650 MB or so, not to mention the Program Files directory (which I can't really get any accurate measure of, since I share it with Win XP). My Windows XP is pretty big as well (1.5 GB). I have no idea why my OSes are so big. I don't install any fancy stuff or anything.

It is just a space saving tip. Probs about a gig is best size for your partition.

I'm not planning to run any other apps with it other than VGS.

btw, the final footprint of 98SE in my HDD is ~220MB.

650MB?? Well, there is the factor that other programs do install files on your Windows folder without your permission -_-

Well If you cut the crap and don't install many programs that 250 should be enough

I don't think VGS needs that much of a swap file anyway.
