help me out with my partition !!!

I format and partioned my hard drive which is a 40 gb.
I left 6 gigs for C and the rest for D

but one annoying thing is that all my programs are being installed on D but it seems that much of the install data or whatever it is, it's filling C
whats going on ?

how much gigs should I use for windows xp space ?

I use 2 GB for XP, and Xp only, and install apps on another partition. Are you sure the install path is D:\Program Files?

In any case, you can try deleting the stuff inside Temp.

You know that some apps tend to install system files into that %system% variable, which generally corresponds to the System folder in Win9x and System32 in Win2000/NT, right (I don't know about WinXP)? That may be the natural problem you're facing if the OS you're using is installed in your C:\.
