Hey guys how do i go about removing direct x 8

i want to remove DX8 from my winme OS as comanche 4 fails to let me use a higher resoultion if i use DX8 with the V3 so do tell me what changes i have to make in the registry. thanks in advance

IMO, uninstalling directx is very risky.
however, if you really want to uninstall it, you can try DirectX Buster.

Be very careful. DirectX is not just hooked up to games. You can totally mess up your multimedia functions (Media Player) as well not to mention your whole OS.

You can try DirectX Eradicator:

Remember: if you want to uninstall DirectX, you can do it, but remember to reinstall it right after, cuz many programs will not work properly. Only do this if some file is corrupted, or if you want to install an older version of DX, etc.

Just make sure that AFTER you castrate your computer's OS, you replace it with some better equipment

are you sure you just don't have left over drivers from some past video card?

by the way, did you know you really can't roll back with dx 8?
coz once it install it linked with some of your windows files, and it can be a big problem after you uninstall it, and install a older version over it,

I'm pretty sure windows will frell up if you try to uninstall dx 8 or above
