Just trying. It seems to be very slow without Dual Core. In this case, I'll join you later.

.. but, I think eventually D.D. will overtake the first position the way he's going 24/7

Dax's progress is a bit scary too
I'm currently running the client with -advmethods, don't want to make it TOO easy for you guys

yeah.. that's why I won't be on 24/7... although my pc's still on quite often.

@nosound - was the other pc on vista? I tried some custom settings (using the command line prompt) where it'd give the error you mentioned, but just following the regular procedures it was fine... and eh, I don't see you showing up in the stats yet?

anyway, I WANT people to beat my score... we're doing great, but we need more activity on this group

I wouldn't know... I didn't even know there was a -forceasm setting; just read about the -advmethods one.

The -forceasm commandline switch is for AMD processors that have SSE and/or SSE2 instructions. FAH is compiled with fortran and thusly contains no information on AMD's CPU_IDs. :/

Hmm. Oh well. It doesn't hurt to have it on. I'll leave F@H on while I'm at work today too. Hopefully that'll give me a few WU boosts.

you're closing in on WU's.. after that, it's just a matter of time to beat the score as well, unless I'd decide to leave my pc on 24/7, and I won't (it's on quite often, though).

Well, antiquated x86 CPUs can't really hope to keep up with your monster videocard with all its fancy stream processors That said, maybe I'll catch up on WUs eventually, perhaps during the summer time when everyone else has to turn off their PCs more often to keep the heat down

In any case though, if its for biomedical advancements, I'm always glad to put in any resource I can and I'm glad the folks here at Ngemu seem to agree

Hahaha. Not at all, if anything its Samor for being such a monster right?

Jokes aside, all the normal contributors deserve awards for helping unlock the secrets behind the frailties of mankind.

I dropped in that HS21XM blade yesterday that I normally use for myself as a video-conversion mule. I spawned 8 processes for the 8 cores and selected 'big' so it would dent the 8GB of RAM. Lets see what impact this will make.

If I feel brave I might put our Dunnington box with 64GB of RAM into action...24cores (four socket x 6cores each). That said, this one will always be a testing station so I never know when someone might wipe it and put Linux back on :P

I was out of the country for a couple of days, hence why I didn't really have the moment to give a nice summary of the week. I've been lurking at this thread though and noticed our rapidly increasing ranks. Doing a nice job here! Meanwhile...

... My GF took up an interest in the project as well. Having been at her place for a couple of days again she decided to let her HD4670 do some calculating for the cause, with great results as well. It runs quite a bit more stable at her place, no failed projects nor VPU recoveries, wish it ran that well on my card. She's jealous at the pace here though, but I have to admit that hers is quite a bit more efficient when it comes to performance per Watt. So well, obviously I didn't want to take credit for her contributions, so we can welcome her to the NGEmu ranks as well.

Had a slow morning so I went and installed folding@home on our Dunnington box. Unfortunately I don't believe Folding@home SMP scales well over 4 cores so I didn't install that and Machine IDs run out at 16 so I couldn't use all 24 cores even when spawning independent services.
